Job Title:              General Cleaner 2nd Shift Building Lead

Locations:             Mason, Ohio

Reports To:           Account Manager           

FLSA Status:         Non-Exempt

  

Summary

Perform supervisory & cleaning responsibilities, provides communications to Operations Manager and Customer. Maintains equipment and building, ensures safe working conditions, and participates in process improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervisory
    • Supervises directly or indirectly.
    • Makes sure all employees are checked in for their shift.
    • Addresses and retrains employees.
    • Addresses an employee shortage by redistributing work, calling in additional employees, or performing the work.
    • Maintains contact with operators on duty during shift.
    • Ensures all employees are aware and comply with company and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Trains employees (process and equipment).
    • Address workers complaints and resolves problems, refers matters to supervisor as needed.
    • Follows disciplinary policy to correct, retrain, or discipline employees as needed, and contributes to annual review.                        
  • Operations
    • Assigns equipment to crews and projects for maximum efficiency and productivity.
    • Identifies ad recommends route changes as needed to improve efficiency.
    • Coordinates replacement equipment as needed.
    • Performs duties of works supervised including, but not limited to, operator responsibilities.
  • Safety
    • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Customer Relations
    • Addresses customer's complaints and resolves the problem.
  • Work Quality
    • Retrains employee to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Ensures all jobs are completed according to schedule.
  • Communication
    • Attends office meetings as requested by Operations Manager and Supervisor.
    • Is always available via cell phone to consult with all direct and indirectly.
    • Communicates shift needs and tasks to workers, re-assigning and re-directing work as needed.
    • Notifies Supervisor of any employee shortages or production issues.
    • Reports shift activity to Supervisor.
    • Reports all truck and equipment problems to Supervisor.
    • Communicates any non-compliance of company's policies and expectations.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Repair
    • Handles minor repairs.
  • Building Maintenance & Repair
    • Maintains building and facility keeping it clean an organized, including dumpster, grounds, and custodial closets.

  • Education and/or Experience
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred Experience
    • Two years supervisory experience or equivalent of education and experience 
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Facility
    • Clean and maintain designated areas inside the facility daily, which includes but is not limited to the lobby, restrooms, breakrooms, office and/or classrooms, conference rooms, stairwells, parking lot and public areas.
    • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, polish, wash windows, clean elevators/stairs, and empty trash.
    • Ensure the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping is met.
  • Ground Maintenance
    • Remove ice and snow from walkways.
    • Keep company grounds free of litter and debris.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Make sure all doors, windows, entrances/exits are securely closed and locked if you are the last to leave the building.
